in a quick view of your weld pinholes out the ass. you will prolly have to grind that back out and weld back over. make sure to stay in the puddle and watch the puddle move back and forth from side to side and make sure that it fills in nicely. wire feed speed is too low and crank up that amps and volts. will run faster and fill in a lot better.

@livecrabs Neally all tests allow 15 degree back or forth
livecrabs (December 31, 1969 at 5:59 pm)
that angle u have the plate at is not gonna be acceptable to any company you test for that plate is supposed to be STRAIGHT up and down. vertical means vertical. and it looks like your voltage and wire speed are off. this type of welding is way to easy for your welds to look like crap. so it looks like crap because of your control settings.

Hmm.....wear two more bandanas and your welds will appear great...

Sorry mate u should b ashamed, shouldnt have to knock the slag off it should peel off if ur any good and the worm holes shit. No amount of wire brushing is going to make it look either, get it right, film it then post it.

those plates are not straight, its easy go up,come on...

if the slag pretty much just falls off then you know you have a good weld. Looks like you have some worm holes maybe just camera i dont know. But make sure that slag stays out of that puddle!

I had to do the same thing. Only it was a 3/4 in plate. I also had to do an overhead 3/4 in plate, aiming the stinger straight up in the air for my certification. Its not that hard if you just run it a little hot and place your welds good. The root pass is very important.

stu is right, so is weldmaster, to big of a jump going up. You need to stay in the puddle buddy, wait til the hole fills then move slightly up and to the right, slightly up to the left etc... A little more practice and you will be good to go. |
